Get Over Regret and Quit Spinning Your Wheels Over Past Mistakes?

Do you want to get over regret? In another words, you don’t need to spend the rest of your life feeling depressed and bad about your past screwups in life. Really, you don’t. ..Try ReframingTony Robbins book, Unlimited Power

Save all of your precious energy for the present and future. Things that you can do something about. Makes sense doesn’t? Most people who have successful lives usually take bad things that happen to them and turn them around, and make those “bad things” work for them. They get over regret. That’s the difference between winners and losers. That is the long and short of it.

I know, this practice seems to be against human nature. But, that is the way it is. Make the slings and arrows of life work for you or suffer the consequences…waisted energy and depression resulting from the over used “regret”. Try Embracing Adversity

It takes the mental discipline and a genuine deep desire to be successful in order to belly up to the bar of Success and Accomplishment. It’s no place for the faint of heart. Don't let regret make you weak! This is probably why truly successful people are hard to find. Or more accurately put, the really successful people in life are a very uncommon group.

Back to reframing. So, if you are waisting your life focusing on past mistakes and regret, try Reframing. It will help you greatly to become a truly successful human being. Whether you wish to be a successful parent, provider, lover, explorer, or business person.

Here is the capsule version: Start by picturing in your minds eye the event that gives you great sorrow and regret. Now force yourself to visualize what the best possible side effects could potentially be.

Not immediate effects, but future positive ramifications of that sad event. Remember, your trying to add some constructive events that can be credited to that event.

For example, lets say at one time, a good friend of mine,Bob was an alcoholic. And because of that problem, He wrecked his marriage. Leaving behind domestic chaos. Having realized his weakness, he quit drinking and eventually got remarried. He has great regret about this past mistake. And, often looks back on his past with sorrow and regret. Bob did learn to get over regret.

Fortunately, through this terrible experience, he became strong and developed character, patience, and wisdom. Now Bob is a prominent member of Alcoholics Anonymous, helping others leave the scourge of alcoholism. Additionally, his wife has some health problems. With the patience and wisdom he has acquired from his own hurtful experiences, I am happy to say, he is a much better husband and help mate. And most importantly, a more caring human being.

Bob made his past mistakes and made regret work for him, rather then against him.

I know, this practice seems to be against human nature. But, that is the way it is. Make the slings and arrows of life work for you or suffer the consequences…waisted energy and depression resulting from the over used “regret”.Try being your best friend
