Here's the Challenge for Seniors and Boomers

Hey Seniors and Boomers, Here’s the CHALLENGE You Have Been Waiting For!

Yes! It’s the Challenge we have all been waiting for…the goal is to admit the Secret we have been carrying around now for several years.

The big secret is that you and I are finally ready to accomplish some Very Big Things. How come we have been keeping it a secret? Probably because it takes lots of courage to admit to ourselves that we still want to make an IMPRINT on this world.I mean after all, shouldn’t we seniors be sitting in our rocking chair and counting our coupons? Gee whiz, I hope not. There must be more to life then “doin nothing”…just waiting for the Grim Reaper to take us to the Big Prom in the Sky.

I am talking about doing all of the things we always knew we were capable of doing, but for some reason, we just never got around to doing it.

Doing what you ask? Maybe it’s using your life experiences to help mentor or tutor a young person. Maybe it’s becoming a Black Belt in Lovemaking…whoa! It could be starting a new career. Adopting a new outlook on life. Getting a new wardrobe. How about taking that long sought and well deserved trip or vacation? Whatever it is, it simply doesn’t matter.

The point being, we are all on a “finite” plane of existence here. The stop watch of life is a ticking. It’s time to get “down on it” and begin making it happen. If not now, then when?

I am as guilty as anyone else when comes to putting off my destiny. It really is time for you and I to Stand for Your Greatness. No matter what!

Practically speaking, what does “finally accomplishing something big” mean? Firstly, we can now honestly get off our regret trip. You know what I am talking about…the “ I coulda, shoulda, woulda, club. By taking this drastic action alone, we will get focused and energized like nobody’s business.

Eliminating that poisonous energy sapping thing called regret will be a real rejuvenating shot in the arm. Honestly. I know this from personal experience. However, let me warn you, taking this drastic step, of eliminating regret from your life, can be quite intimidating.

It’s like having all of this new positive energy, you are busting out at the seams, that is, you’re all dressed up and you have no where to go. Fear Management

That’s why it is very important to have a list of what challenges you are accepting and planning on accomplishing. And then, this is very important, you should immediately begin implementing your plan or action. This is not the time to be messing around. Don’t kid yourself, you might not have the appetite for doing this latter.

Don’t wake up tomorrow and be intimidated or fearful of what big challenge or accomplishment you have decided on. No time for buyer’s remorse. Actually, it will be a good sign if tomorrow brings you a little fear and trepidation. Why? Because it is important to have chosen a challenge that is big enough to give you pause for reflection. You don’t need a death defying goal, but it should be something of real substance.

The next thing you want to do is get your “program” in gear. Relax, you don’t have to take on New York right away. Go after your objective “incrementally”. Break you challenge down into small manageable parts. Then, focus on each segment, one at a time.Don’t burn yourself out. In another words, place this magnificent obsession into a doable context. Like manage it on a part-time or supplemental basis and or time span. At least until you get your feet wet and you have developed the confidence to really get up in the morning and want to kick butt. Power of Belief

Lastly, lets not forget what this entire conversation was about…taking advantage of our years of acquired wisdom and experience. Inorder to put all of this together and kickstart this project of “accomplishing something big in our lives ‘again’. ( Raising A FAMILY WAS THE BIGGEST PROJECT ANY OF US COULD HAVE HOPED FOR. I GRANT YOU THAT. I AM TALKING NOW ABOUT TAKING A BIG BREATH AND GOING IN A NEW DIRECTION)

We will need to use all of the Discipline, Balance, Character, and Integration of everything good that we can muster up. Like I said at the beginning…our time now is finite, we are running out of time. We are energized and we had said goodbye to the world of regret.
